01
Find your welcome email
Right after your account is set up, we email you your cPanel username and password, your server name and your name servers. Keep it somewhere safe.
Can't find it? The same details are in the client portal under Services, in your hosting plan's Product Details.
02
Point your domain at Covelio
Log in to the company where you registered your domain (your registrar) and change its name servers to the ones in your welcome email. You'll need at least the primary and secondary name server.
Your domain stays registered where it is; only where it points changes. If you're not sure where to change it, ask your registrar or open a ticket and we'll help. More detail: Setting name servers for your domain.
Changes take 24 to 48 hours to reach everyone (this is called DNS propagation). Until then your site and email won't work on your domain yet; use the links in step 7 in the meantime.
03
Moving from another host?
We'll move your files, databases and email for you, for free. Open a support ticket with your domain and your old host's login details, and we'll take it from there.
Tip: wait until the move is finished before changing your name servers, so your site stays online the whole time.
04
Put your site online
Log in to cPanel (see step 7) and choose one:
- Install an app: open Softaculous to install WordPress, Joomla, Drupal or 450+ other apps in about a minute.
- Upload your own files: use cPanel's File Manager, or an FTP client with the FTP details from your welcome email.
Your site's files go in the public_html folder. Replace the placeholder page with your own index.html or index.php (all lowercase).
05
Set up email
Your plan includes email on your own domain, but no addresses exist until you create them. In cPanel, open Email Accounts and add the addresses you need, such as [email protected].
Read your mail in Webmail (see step 7), or add the account to your phone or mail app. cPanel shows the settings under Connect Devices.
06
Free SSL (HTTPS)
Once your domain points at us, AutoSSL adds a free certificate so your site loads over https://. It renews itself; there's nothing to buy or install. If your site still isn't on HTTPS a day after your domain switched over, let us know.

Useful links
Replace yourdomain.com with your domain, and your-server with the server name from your welcome email.

Getting help
Our team is available 24/7/365, and we respond to every ticket within 12 hours. Open a ticket from the client portal, or look for a quick answer in our knowledgebase first.
To get the fastest fix:
- Open one ticket per issue. Duplicate tickets slow things down.
- Include your domain, your cPanel username and as much detail as you can.
- If we need to see the problem, include the page address or steps to repeat it.
09
Billing
Your plan renews automatically each year on the date you signed up. Keep a current card or PayPal on file so your service isn't interrupted.
In the client portal you can update your payment method, view invoices, change your contact details, upgrade your plan or cancel.
